        Updated 2/6/2016

      FEBRUARY:
Sunday, February 7 Souper Bowl of Caring Offering
On Sunday, February 7, we will receive our Souper Bowl of Caring offering to feed our hungry neighbors in Scott County. All the money we receive stays here in Scott County, supporting the Scott County Food Pantry. Last year our church had the fifth highest total of all the Tennessee churches that received the offering – and all the churches that received more have more than 800 members!
Here’s what we hope to do Sunday:
      - Bring a generous check plus several bills of various denominations. The children will receive the offering at the sanctuary door after worship, and it’s nice to have something to put in each of their pots and bowls.
      - Bring a new manual can opener to contribute. Many children who receive backpacks of food on Fridays and many food pantry patrons can’t use regular canned items because they don’t have a can opener.
      - Check your pantry and bring non-perishable food (no glass containers, please) that has not expired.
      - Consider donating personal hygiene items, cleaning supplies, and especially laundry detergent. These items are desperately needed by pantry and shelter clients but aren’t available from central food banks.
Thank you so much for your generous support in past years. We hope to have another record breaking offering as we tackle hunger and change the game in our Souper Bowl of Caring!

      Wednesday, February 10 (6 pm):
      Ash Wednesday Supper/Worship

Please attend our Ash Wednesday supper and worship service, and bring a low-fat dish to share as we begin our observance of Lent.
